It turns out that I didn't have to wait too long for that happen: on my last day in America we made our way to Big Bear City to play with snow!! Since we barely had enough sleep because of our family get-together the night before, the two-hour drive up the mountains gave us a chance to catch up on some shuteye. We woke up to some lovely views of the lake, tall trees, and log cabins; it tells us how far away we are from the jampacked highways we got so used to in SoCal. The place had a totally chill and cozy vibe, I really wished I have the chance to camp out there next time!
It wasn't exactly snow season just yet; we came a week early for the party. Recreation areas had to rely on machines to create snow for its guests and you could still see the dry lands, compared to ones covered in ice, everywhere you turn. Still, the "fakeness" of snow wouldn't stop us from having a great time. Instead of snowboarding at Big Bear Mountain, we settled with the slide and tubing activities at nearby Magic Mountain. In between, we managed to be kids again, throwing snowballs at each other and just lying on the cold grounds, trying not to mind the heat of the sun. Even little Shiloh had her fun (Just look at that adorable munchkin!).
Needless to say, I had a really great last day, all thanks to Tito Ted, Tita Eh, EJ, Melissa, and Shy. Now I'm already missing these folks as I'm reminiscing halfway around the world from them. I even got to create a video montage on my snow experience a couple of months ago. Such sweet and unforgettable memories! Until we meet again, family...and snow!
