Simple as this

Lianne's trip home is always very special to our group of friends so we make it a point to spend some quality time with her whenever we could. Apart from the usual dinner dates and coffee catch-ups, she sweetly arranged a day at the beach for just us girls back in May and it was probably the perfect weekend getaway, the breath of fresh air we all needed.

On the evening prior, most of us spent the night over at my twin, Cara, and Ana's shared apartment so we don't have to worry about missing our early alarms to be ready by our 4:30 am call time or having to catch a cab way before dusk to the meeting place. You could guess how crazy it was to have everyone under one roof again, even for one night only.


We were either dead asleep or talking about the latest about our lives or of other interesting people's in very, very loud voices on our way to Stilts Calatagan Beach Resort in Batangas. But as soon as we got there, we couldn't help but be stunned at how beautiful the place was. No one has heard of the place before so we were all pleasantly surprised. Every corner was pretty and picturesque, adorned with flowers and wooden signs with inspirational quotes.


Time must have slowed down for us because even after we have explored the gorgeous resort and settled into our cottage plus floating cabana, finished several rounds of Avalon, Scattergories, Monopoly Deal, and our typical card games, had our festive lunch by the beach, took naps, and swam to our heart's content (all while dodging what must have been jellyfishes and sea snakes we were all so afraid of), the sun was still bright gold and lovely.


Under the charming light and as soon as the sunset reigned the skies, Stilts and my sunshines looked even more elegant in the most graceful way I never thought possible. Always grateful to have these girls in my life. Couldn't have asked for a better Mother's Day away from our mothers, if I may say so. I pray for more moments like this. Thank you, Lianne (and Nico) for making this all happen, you're forever the sweetest!
